It's 1955, and Albert Einstein lies in a hospital bed, deathly ill. He suddenly stirs, asks his assistant for paper and pen, then scribbles something down. Minutes later, he dies.
History tells us that Einstein jotted down equations that night. But struggling scholar Jacob Morgan believes that history is wrong. He's convinced that Einstein wrote a deathbed confession that night - a secret that the great scientist didn't want to take to his grave.
Jacob has spent his entire adult life obsessively hunting down that secret - with nothing to show for it but the scorn of his colleagues and the tattered remnants of a once-promising teaching career.
But now, thanks to a lucky break, Jacob has a chance to get his life back on track. His appointment as an adjunct professor at the University of Virginia is a fresh start, and he's vowed to end his pursuit of Einstein's secret.
Until history chooses this moment to deliver him one more clue. A clue that leads him to an impossible and unbelievable discovery time travel.
And so begins the last leg of Jacob's desperate quest, one where history is not only changeable - it's changing. All by itself. And if Jacob doesn't rescue Einstein's secret, everything that he's ever known will disappear forever.

Wow! Just finished it. It's a great ride, full of twists and turns and surprises. It's well written and sweeps you up into the mystery immediately. I also loved that the main character was smart and relentless. I don't want to post any spoilers, but I also thought it had a unique take on time travel. That was refreshing. Definitely a fantastic read!Product details

Einstein Secret (Audible Audio Edition) Irving Belateche Kevin T Collins Audible Studios Books Reviews
This book really grabbed me. Sci-fi is not my favorite genre, but I couldn't put this one down. In this well-written novel, Belateche presents (what is to me) a new, intriguing, and mind-bending theory of time travel. I will definitely be reading more from this author in MY future.
I found the book easy to read without any typos that I noticed and only 2 instances of a missing word. (Gee, someone must have actually proofread this book...how unlike most books!) Some of the reviewers stated that they had trouble following the different timelines. I think the key to this is that every time there is a time shift, you need to stop and think about the repercussions of the event before rushing on and reading more. The book is well worth a little thought.
Einstein's Secret was incredibly original and totally captivating. I couldn't put it down. The story is full of surprises and twists that you don't see coming. It reads like a bestselling thriller combined with a literary touch. Jacob Morgan, the main character, is sure Einstein made a deathbed confession, but no one believes him. When he finds proof that he might be right and follows up on it, his entire world is thrown into chaos. A kind of chaos that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Belateche, the author, does an incredible job of making you feel the same loss of control that Jacob feels, so you end up wanting answers as desperately as Jacob does. One of the things that happens about halfway through blew me away. I wasn't expecting it all, but it went perfectly with the story. I think that both science fiction readers and thriller/mystery readers will love this book.
I thoroughly liked this book. It had a very different twist on time travel and I have since learned that this author is a bit on the dark side which I like. I gave up trying to anticipate the next moves and just went along for the ride. I will not give away any of the details but it is a good fast read with lots of twists and turns and a little darkness along the way.
I liked this book so much that I bought another of his books entitled "The Origin of Dracula" and also thoroughly enjoyed it. Belateche is on my watch list. If he writes it I will read it.
Einstein's Secret is the best thriller to come down the pike in a long, long time. I really enjoyed it. The book delivered on every level. There were so many great twists and turns that I kept thinking the author couldn't top that one and then he did! The book was well written. It was literary, but also easy to read. The story has a great science fiction hook, but it's an incredible thriller at its heart. I highly recommend you check out this book.
I LOVED it!!! Best story I've read since The Hiroshima Agenda!!! This writer is excellent. The plot hooked me immediately, the action was continuous and exciting, the love interest was sweet and enticing, the twists and turns and surprises were regular. I love the location of the action at University of VA. I loved the scientific concepts he utilized in the story. Even though he did not go into a lot of specifics about how they worked he obviously understood them well enough to use them appropriately. I love a blend of science, philosophy, and other intellectual subjects in the telling of any story, and Belateche is now one of my faves.
I enjoy books that involve testing the different theories when it comes to what is written in the history books. This one involved Einstein and what he said on his deathbed through his mathematic equations. Jacob then discovers that his "confession" involves the secrets to time travel.
Jacob in turn tries to travel back in time over and over again in order to change history. In turn, we learn like in most cases that once you change history it changes everything. I could not put this book down, period.
Irving Belateche created a story that is not only creative but it makes you question history and what could happen if you could change it. A must read!
Okay, I will confess. I picked this one up because it was offered at 99 cents. I thought it might be worth trying. What I found was an engaging mix of history, plausible conjecture, and interesting action. I had trouble putting the book down and getting on with my life.
In my greed, looking for cheaper books on , I have to wade through lots of typos, poor spelling, and horrendous grammar. This book has none of those. It is a tight, well-written book with absolutely no distracting editing errors. The writing style kept me in the story, the characters were interesting and believable, and I found myself enjoying the book more than I ever would have imagined.
If I had any criticism, it would be that I thought it ended a little too abruptly, and would have liked to have known more in the "wrap-up." But, knowing what I know now, if I had it to do all over again, I would buy the book, and I would be willing to pay more than 99 cents.
Any other comments would be "spoilers," and I don't want to do that. If you are reading this, I want you to buy the book. I have never met the author, have no personal interest in publicizing this book, and will get no remuneration from recommending it. I just like sharing something I enjoyed this much.
Great book and great job!
